Qualitative career interventions for tertiary students

Presenter(报告人): Dr Mary McMahon
Mary McMahon is a senior lecturer in the School of Education at The University of Queensland. Her particular interests are the career development of children and adolescents, and the application of constructivist approaches to career counselling and assessment. She is especially interested in qualitative career assessment. Mary is the author of a number of books, book chapters, and refereed journal articles.
Abstract(摘要): This workshop briefly overviews issues faced by tertiary students and considers the use of qualitative career interventions. Two interventions, based on the presenter’s own work, will be outlined. First, the qualitative career assessment instrument My System of Career Influences (MSCI) will be presented and an example of its use in Hong Kong will be described. Second, the Integrative Structured Interview (ISI) process will be presented as a qualitative method of discussing quantitative career assessment results with clients.
